Course Summary
Due to the wealth of evidence on the severity of ‘first aid skill fade’, from October 2009, the HSE now recommend that First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders attend annual refresher training.
Who Should Attend?
First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders requiring their basic practical first aid skills updating.Course Content
The content of this course is defined by the HSE and covers the following topics:
- assess the situation in an emergency
- administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)
- administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
- administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.
Assessment
The course is 3 hours in duration and participants are continuously assessed throughout the course.In addition to our regular ‘open' first aid training courses, we can also arrange to run a course specifically for you at a venue of your choice. This may be your own premises or another suitable location that is convenient for you.
