Parents, guardians or any member of the general public with an interest in emergency first aid for children and babies.
Course Content
The course is designed to give participants a basic knowledge of first aid when caring for children and babies according to the revised UK resuscitation guidelines (2005), and covers subjects including:
- Planning for an emergency/Preventing an emergency
- Care of the unconscious casualty
- CPR
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Choking
- Fractures/Sprains/Strains
- Common first aid situations and childhood illnesses
Assessment
There is no formal assessment for this course. Participants are continuously monitored, and on completion receive a certificate of attendance valid for three years. All participants receive a course book to support learning. This training is now only offered in house for up to 12 participants. If you can get a group of friends together, we'll come and deliver the training for you in the comfort of your own home or a chosen venue. Please contact us for details.
