Course Summary
First Aid at Work is a 24-hour course approved by the Health and Safety Executive, teaching participants about management of a medical emergency in the workplace.
All participants receive a course book to support learning.
Price includes course book refreshments and certification.
Who Should Attend?
The person responsible for first aid in the medium to large, or high-risk workplace as defined in accordance with HSE guidelines.
Course Content
The syllabus is very interactive and comprehensive, covering subjects including:
- CPR
- Unconsciousness
- Bleeding/Wounds/Shock
- Fractures/Sprains/Strains
- Burns and Scalds
- Eye injury
- Gas or fumes inhalation
- Poisoning
- Minor and Major illnesses
- Safe transportation of a casualty
- Contents of a first aid kit
- Record-keeping/legislation
Assessment
Participants must undertake two formal assessments on completion of the course, which cover taught subjects on the syllabus. On successful completion participants will receive a certificate valid for 3 years.
