Walking the Great Wall for St. Michael's Hospice, will Clare rise to the challenge?

Jan 17, 2009

Our very own Clare Flynn has decided to undertake a walk the Great wall of China challenge in aid of St. Michael's hospice in Harrogate.

'It's an immense personal challenge, an incredibly worthwhile cause, and the trip of a lifetime,' Clare explains, as her reasoning for signing up. Of course, it is also an immense fundraising challenge. Clare needs to raise almost £3000 in order to fund the challenge, at least 50% of which will go directly to the hospice.

She has teamed up with her friend and colleague, Tanya Yates, in order to organise some events, gather publicity about the trip, and hopefully smash their combined £6000 target. Together they have already planned a Wine and Cheese evening and a Karaoke in February, a Charity ball in March, a bronze and silver coin collection competition, and a family fun day.

Clare states that she has gathered some fantastic support from friends, family, and local businesses, but she is still on the lookout for raffle prizes, aution prizes, and help with some printing of tickets and brochures for the ball. So watch out she may be coming your way!
