Kids Saving Lives!

An exciting new campaign for schools, and a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to benefit from extra publicity!

Apr 15, 2008

Kids Saving Lives is an exciting new initiative for us. We visited a local school in Harrogate as a pilot session and taught Years 5 and 6 how to make a 999 call, when and how to put someone into the recovery position, and when and how to perform CPR. Following on from this the idea for 'Kids Saving Lives' was born. We have designed a training session for young people in Years 6, 7 and 8, to learn these basic skills, with the intention of raising awareness about lifesaving initiatives.

The Harrogate Advertiser have kindly agreed to support us with the start-up of the campaign, by launching our competition to find a logo for the campaign in the paper this week. The competition is open to all those under the age of 18, but has been launched in Harrogate as Kids Saving Lives is being launched from Harrogate. Lightwater Valley has also agreed to support us by donating a family pass for a day in the theme park as a prize for the winning entrant. The winning logo will be chosen on 14th May 2008, with the closing date for entries being the 9th May 2008.

We are currently looking for local businesses who would like to get involved in supporting 'Kids Saving Lives'. The campaign is being run on a not for profit basis, but we have to cover certificate costs, student and teacher support packs, and the costs of training and paying trainers. The eventual aim is to roll the campaign out nationwide to ensure school children across the country can benefit from this training, as any one of us may benefit from their training should we be in a life threatening situation. If you are looking to support a fantastic cause, and in return receive some excellent publicity for your business, please contact us to come on board!
